How it works
Four steps, a few minutes a day.
The hard part of showing up well is deciding what deserves a reply and finding the right words. CounterSpeech does the preparation on your phone. You do the speaking.

Pick what you care about
Choose one category — misinformation, scams and fraud, AI and deepfakes, online hate, and others. It decides what kinds of conversations reach your queue, and you can change it in Settings whenever you like.

Open a short daily queue
CounterSpeech looks for public posts worth a reply and prepares a handful of drafts in your writing style, around the time of day you choose. By the time you open the app, Today is waiting.

Read it, change it, or skip it
Each draft opens next to the post it answers, labelled as AI-generated. Rewrite a word or the whole thing, report a bad draft, or skip it and move on. The judgment stays yours.

Post it yourself on X
Tap Open in X and the conversation opens in the X app or your browser with your draft ready. You decide whether to post. Then come back and mark it Done or Skip.
There is no step where CounterSpeech publishes something on its own. Posting happens in X, on your phone, with your thumb.

Two screens, and both of them are yours.
CounterSpeech is deliberately small: a queue for the day and a draft you can rewrite. There is no feed to scroll and no dashboard to manage.
Today
A short list, then you are done.
Today holds the handful of conversations CounterSpeech thought were worth your time, prepared in advance. Work through them in order or pick the one you care about. When the list is empty, the app has nothing else to ask of you.
- Replies to public posts — plus original posts of your own, which you can switch off in Settings
- Prepared around a time of day you choose in Settings
- Skipping costs nothing, and a skipped post does not come back
Your writing style
It should sound like you, because it started with you.
Drafts are shaped by how you already write in public — sentence length, register, the words you tend to reach for. Nothing is copied from a script and no two people get the same reply. It is a starting point, not a finished sentence, and the last edit is always yours.

Topics
Shared topics. Individual words.
During onboarding you choose one category, and it decides what turns up in your queue: misinformation, scams and fraud, AI and deepfakes, online hate and harassment, conspiracy claims, consumer safety, climate claims, and others. A few categories are still listed in the app as not yet available, and stay that way until we are confident we can support them well.
What people share is the topic. What they say is their own. No shared scripts, no copy-paste, no one-size-fits-all talking points — you write from your own account, in your own words, on your own schedule.

Tools that touch public conversation should be conservative about what they do without being asked. These are the lines we hold.
You are the author
A draft is a suggestion. Nothing reaches the timeline until you have read it, changed what you want, and posted it yourself on X.
Your public handle, never your password
CounterSpeech asks for your public @handle and nothing more. There is no X login, no OAuth, and no password to hand over — so the app has no ability to act as you.
Restraint is a feature
The daily queue is deliberately short. A few careful, reviewed replies do more than a hundred reflexive ones, and we build for the former.
What we work with
Your public @handle and your public posts — the same things anyone can already read. We never ask for, collect, or store your X password, and the app does not use X login.
Drafts, your edits, and whether you marked something done or skipped stay in your CounterSpeech account. You can ask us to delete all of it at any time — see the Privacy Policy.
